About This Place

Located in the heart of Sacramento at 2700 24th St, Café Dantorels is a beloved American restaurant and coffee shop that masterfully blends classic brunch favorites with a cozy, spirited vibe. Renowned for its scrumptious and diverse menu, this neighborhood gem invites diners to indulge in richly satisfying dishes such as the creamy, layered Tiramisu Cappuccino Latte, the perfectly crafted Eggs Benedict, and the hearty Salmon Dinner. Sweet cravings are equally well catered to with the irresistible Cinnamon & Currant French Toast or the homemade French Toast, both kissed with just the right amount of warmth and spice. For savory appetites, the Western Burger with Fries and the spicy Shrimp Crepe stand out as crowd-pleasers, while the Nutella Crepe topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and banana offers a luscious, fruity finish that lingers delightfully on the palate.

The dining atmosphere at Café Dantorels reflects the essence of a classic American eatery infused with an inviting coffeehouse charm. Inside, the rustic yet tasteful décor creates a snug setting, although it tends to get cozy — and bustling — especially during weekend brunch hours. Early weekday visits promise a quieter, almost idyllic experience, ideal for savoring dishes like the Cheese Omelette with Extra Mushrooms or the hearty Breakfast Burrito without feeling rushed. The outdoor seating area, complete with a warm fireplace, adds a charming touch, perfect for guests who prefer fresh air paired with their morning coffee or a refreshing Bloody Mary.

Customer experiences paint a vivid picture of Café Dantorels’ strengths and character. Many rave about the generous portion sizes, with Joyce Lucich highlighting the “huge” burgers and “magnifique” crepes, while David Rubio praises the varied menu that caters especially well to meat lovers, complemented by a solid selection of beers and wines. The café is also notably dog-friendly, with outdoor tables welcoming four-legged companions — a definite plus for pet owners seeking a relaxed dining spot.

Service, however, is a mixed bag. Some patrons appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, but others find the self-service style and occasional inattentiveness less appealing. Anna Gonzalez advises timing your visit strategically to avoid long waits and cramped seating, noting that while the vibe and décor are “cute,” the space can feel quite tight. Meanwhile, Monica Najar found the ordering process a bit impersonal but confirmed that the food and drink quality easily made up for it, especially praising the delightful fruit in the sangria.

Despite some quirks, Café Dantorels delivers a consistently delicious food experience anchored by classic American flavors and standout coffee creations. Whether you’re craving a perfectly balanced Cortado in the morning, a savory Steak and Eggs, or an indulgent Nutella Crepe bursting with fresh berries, this spot promises to nourish both body and spirit. It’s a place where large appetites find satisfaction and casual diners enjoy a comfortable, authentic taste of Sacramento’s café culture.

Ate here 2 times on very different days. Food: delicious. Cannot mess up breakfast or else don't return. This place was great! Service: order food at counter and find a table, if lucky. It is super busy for brunch on the weekend, but weekday early? Perfection. Some waiters are nice, some not so nice. Atmosphere: the place is cute and the deco fits the vibe BUT very tight squeeze.

4.5/5 for this classic downtown restaurant. The food was great, portions were large and tasted well. There is good st parking around the area. The ambiance is quiet and there’s outdoor seating with fireplace as well. A bit pricey overall so one less star. Otherwise its a good sit down restaurant in downtown.

Great menu with a variety of choices. I'm a carnivore so gravitate to meat items and have enjoyed every single one. Great beer selection and wine options. Cool atmosphere inside or on their patio. Friendly and very helpful service. We take our dog and sit at their tables outside. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get

I didn't like the service. It's more like self service. I prefer to be seated and order at my table. When we did ask for help we were ignored. But now for the food it was tasty. I always order eggs Benedict for brunch everywhere I go. It was a good not my favorite but it hit the spot. The drinks were delightful, and the fruit in the sangria were yummy. It was good pairing.

God damn this place is good. Definitely. A bit on the expensive side but in my opinion it is 100% worth it. Got the karma sandwich and it was really really good. Great size sandwich with a massive side of fries. Also got a mocha with hazelnut flavor. Again. Incredible. The only issue I had is the price here. For two people both getting coffees. One getting the steak and eggs and other The karma sandwich. Came out to $77. So pricey but so SO worth it.
